Vivek Vihar is a residential locality of east Delhi borderd by Anand Vihar in south, Dilshad Garden in north and north east and UP localities of Sahibabad in east. Vivek Vihar is adjoined by Yamuna Sports Complex in south which lies in Yojana Vihar area. The Ghazipur road forms the eastern periphery of the locality which separates it from localities of bordering state of Uttar Pradesh.
Educational and Technical Institutes
Vivek Vihar has all urbane amenities. Besides residential spaces, it also has local markets, schools, hospitals and clinics, banks and religious places. Among the educational institutes, there are schools such as Vivekanand College, Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, New Oxford Public School, Dayanand Model School, Greenway International School, and others. There is also an ITI college and skilling center. Popular hospitals of the area include Tirath Ram Hospital, Gupta Multispecialty Hospital and a few clinics of doctors.
Dronacharya Cricket Academy is an important sporting facility located here. The academy is under DDCA and remains crowded with cricket aspirants. Besides, there are some children parks used by kids for playing and by adults for morning exercises, walking or jogging. The parks are well maintained with lush green surroundings and rain shelters.
Among the religious sites which are famous here are Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Shri Hanuman Balaji Mandir and Shri Ram Mandir. Small temples are also present within localities.
State Bank of India, IDFC Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and HDFC Bank are important banks present in Vivek Vihar. These can be accessed along Road No 71.
Red Line of Delhi Metro passes along the northern periphery of Vivek Vihar which separates it from Dilshad Garden. Dilshad Garden and Jhilmil are two metro stations on this line which are close by to Vivek Vihar. You do have to take alternative modes of transport to reach anywhere in Vivek Vihar.
