Buddh International Circuit which will be hosting its first ever Formula One Grand Prix in October though it is still waiting to get the Grade A certification but the venue has already been chosen for another motor race in 2011.
Buddh International Circuit or also known as BIC has been added in the roster for one of the 20 events that will be held from October 26 to 28 in 2012 as according to the schedule released on Formula One’s website.
As according to Askari H Zaidi, the senior vice president of Jaypee Sports India Limited told that the FIA inspection team was very much satisfied with the quality of BIC track and the work progress that the circuit was included for next year’s Grand Prix. According to Formula One calendar, there will be a total of 20 races for 2012, where the first race will be held in Melbourne, Australia from March 15 to 18. Another circuit will also be developed in US for next year.
The race circuit should get clearance before 60 days or preferably 90 days before the event as per the guideline of FIA. The exceptions can be made in case of a new circuit as last year the Korean Grand Prix was given Grade-A certification just 10 days before the event. Zaidi stated that “FIA team judges the progress of work and only then fixes the date near the event otherwise they disapprove. “ JPSI has request for some 1,100 police personnel for providing security to visitors outside the circuit for the first Indian Grand Prix to be held from October 28 to 30 this year.
