About Chattarpur Temple

Situated in beautiful surroundings of the most ancient and historical Mehrauli Area of South Delhi and spread over spacious 70 acres of area, Chattarpur temple is also known by many of the divine devotional pulsations of Shree Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Mandir. At the time of its construction, it was one of the most famous, spacious and grand temples in Delhi with very few like Birla Mandir matching it in grandeur.

The temple has been built with both the Northern and Southern styles of architecture.

The mandir is located in a small village of yore, and was for the first time founded in 1974 by Sant Shree Nagpal Baba. This whole place has now become a sacred pilgrimage centre and is visited by numerous of devotees from all across the country. The temple precincts exhibit exquisite architecture, a perfect blend of both North and South parts of our country. The enthralling statues of the holy deities, such as Maa Katyayani, Maa Mahishasurmardini, Ram-Darbar, Radha-Krishna, Shiv-Parvati, Laxmiji, Ganeshji, Hanumanji and many more, full the people with adoration with highly extreme admiration of the presence of the serenity which is more eloquent than silent.

Special celebrations are held during Navratras, Mahashivratri and Janmashtami which make the whole temple abuzz with pure religious fervour to the delight of the pilgrims who congregate in hundreds and thousands. The “lungar prasad” (free offering of meals for the devotees) is distributed in both the Navratras to almost a lakh visitors every day.

Shree Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Mandir Trust right since the time of Baba Nagpalji is supervising the entire affairs of the Mandir and running a smooth functioning of religious and social programmes which have been cross numerous sections of the Society.

The Mandir is spread almost over an area of approximately 70 acres. The mandir has a number of famous structures, separate as well as they combined, devoted to each deity with large halls for perfect congregation of visitors all across the country.

Some of the other major attractions for the devotees are the Markandeya Mandapam, Shiv Mandir, Ram Mandir, Maa Katyayani Mandir, 101 feet high Hanuman Murti, Maa Mahishasurmaridini Mandir, Hanuman Mandir, Laxmi Vinayak Mandir, Jharpeer Mandir, Baba Ki Samadhi, Maa Ashtabhuji Mandir, Nageshwar Mandir, the Trident (Trishul) etc.

Apart from the Mandirs, Shree Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Mandir Trust is also involved in varied social services such as Medical & Diagnostic Centre, School, Gurukul, Vocational Training Centre and many more.

Metro Connectivity and Location

Chhatarpur Metro Station on the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro network is the nearest station to this temple.
