Gazetted and Restricted Holidays in Uttar Pradesh 2023

Uttar Pradesh (U.P.), one of the most populous states in India, celebrates numerous festivals and events throughout the year. The government of Uttar Pradesh recognizes these festivals and declares them as gazetted holidays for the state. Gazetted holidays are those holidays that are recognized and published in the official government gazette, and all government offices, schools, and banks remain closed on these days.

In addition to gazetted holidays, the government of Uttar Pradesh also recognizes certain festivals and events as restricted holidays.
