The Election Commission of India has announced that Delhi Assembly elections in Delhi would be held on 8 February 2020 and counting of votes would be done on 11 February 2020.
The tenure of the 70-member Delhi Assembly, in which the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 67 seats in 2015, will end on February 22, 2020. The election process is likely to be completed before the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams of classes 10 and 12, which begin on February 15, as schools are used during elections. Therefore, elections would be held on 8 February and results would be declared on 11 February.

Meanwhile, the Congress and the BJP, which failed to do anything special in 2015, have started preparations for the upcoming elections. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party hopes to repeat the success of 2015.
