How to Apply for Delhi Electricity Subsidy 

Starting October 2022, electricity subsidy in Delhi will be available for only those who will apply for it. For this Arvind Kejriwal announced a mobile phone number 7011311111. Link for the form can be obtained by giving missed call on this number or by sending message via Whatsapp. Subsidy will be able to continue only for those who will fill this form. Other than this, forms will also be dispatched along with electricity bills. To continue receiving the subsidy, Delhi electricity users must repeat this process annually.

The individuals who choose the subsidy will get an SMS or email notification. “Those who do not want the subsidy have the option to withdraw from the scheme by not completing the paperwork. currently, residents of Delhi who use less than 200 units of power per month are exempt from paying their energy bills, while those who use up to 400 units receive a 50% rebate on their bills, up to a maximum of Rs 800.

Depending on the month you submit your subsidy application, you will get funding. If you apply in September, a subsidy will start to be given out in October. In the same way, if you choose it in October, you will receive a subsidy in November. As said earlier, this scheme will have to be renewed each year by filling up form, validity for same will for one year.

Offline Procedure

According to press estimates, Delhi has 5,818,231 total electrical connections, with about 4,716,075 of those being subsidised. For the next two billing cycles, those who don’t have access to their power bills online will get a letter and consent form that they must complete out. The voter ID, cellphone number, and signature must all be updated. Names of consumers, CA numbers, and addresses will automatically be updated. Once finished, they must go to the closest billing centre and turn it in at the distinct subsidy counter. Before the subsequent billing cycle, the bill must be paid in full.

Online Procedure

People who get e-bills would also receive a URL with their e-bill. They have to click the link, enter the required information, and submit the form online. Additionally, all three discoms’ applications will include a distinct subsidy area where customers may amend their subsidy requests. Consumers receive a receipt from the discoms with their stamp after the procedure.
