Anand Vihar is a locality in eastern part of Delhi. It is a part of the Shahdara district. It is close to the UP border. Anand Vihar is bordered by Ghazipur, Kaushambi and Mahajpur localities of Uttar Pradesh. Across the Ghazipur drain, there are localities of Preet Vihar and Patparganj. On its north-western flank liest the East Rohtas Nagar and on the northern border is Vivek Vihar. Anand Vihar is essentially a residential colony which was developed at the same time from late 1980s when other parts in East Delhi were also been developed.
