Rapid X Train

The operation of the country’s first Rapid X train has been handed over to Germany’s DB India Company for 12 years. The company will work on the 82 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor for a period of 12 years.

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) claims that this company will provide better service to passengers. The company will take special care of the facilities of the passengers right from the journey to the station.

DB India Company has taken over Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot stations of the primary section after signing the agreement. Computer systems have been installed at all stations. For the last two days, the employees are giving duty from ticket distribution to the platform. Learning the method of every work. Puneet Vats informed that Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consultancy India Private Limited (DB India) is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, the national railway company of Germany. This company is serving in many countries. This initiative taken by NCRTC, utilizing advanced technology, expertise and experience will provide quality services to the passengers.

Metro rail policy was released in 2017

The Chief Public Relations Officer informed that rail-based transit systems in the country are operated by public organizations. Some of these activities go to private companies. He informed that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs had released the Metro Rail Policy in the year 2017. In this, the need for private sector participation in regional rail and metro rail projects has been emphasized. NCRTC has adopted this long term private partnership model.

Preparation for inauguration in last week of June

Rapid X train is set to start operating in the last week of this month. The 17 kilometer long corridor from Sahibabad to Duhai is ready. All the five stations of this section have been built from inside. Lifts, stairs, gates are ready. CCTV cameras were installed and Platforms are ready.
