The Purnima 2022 dates and times shown here can assist you in planning your fasting ahead of time. Fasting on the full moon day, or Purnima, according to Hindu faith, can have a number of health and mental benefits. Purnima vrat has several advantages, including balancing body metabolism, decreasing acid levels, increasing endurance, and purifying the digestive system.

Purnima Pujas are said to bestow enormous rewards on those who participate. As a result, unique pujas such as Satyanarayan puja are held on this day. Subrahmanya, Dattatreya, Buddha, Guru Nanak, and other spiritual leaders were born on Purnima days.

The full moon is the third of the Moon’s four major phases. When the sun and the moon are 180 degrees apart, it is called a full moon. The full moon can coincide with lunar eclipses and displays 100% lightning. On this holy day, the energy is slightly higher.
