How many Bus Terminals are there in Delhi?

Delhi has one of the major bus transportation systems in India. This city mainly has 3 Bus Terminals namely ISBT Kashmere Gate, ISBT Anand Vihar, ISBT Sarai Kale Khan. ISBT stands for Inter State Bus Terminal means Bus Stands from where you can board buses for other states. Buses make up about 60 percent of total demand for Delhi’s transportation means.

Maharana Pratap Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT)

ISBT-Kashmere-Gate

This Terminus is popularly known as ISBT Kashmere Gate, from this bus terminal you can board buses for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir and for some cities of UP and Rajasthan as well. This Terminal is the oldest and one of the most important Inter State Bus Terminals in Delhi and it is located on Ring Road (Kashmere Gate). It is spread across an area of approximately 53 acres and handles  almost 1800 buses a day. There is provision of  air conditioning in the departure room, waiting area and food court. Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants have been designed to provide the passengers with clean drinking water.Safe, high-speed Wi-Fi permits the free internet connection for passengers.

Connectivity : One can easily reach here by Taxis or cab service. This place is well connected with Delhi Metro (Kashmere Gate) and DTC Bus Service.

Swami Vivekanand Inter State Bus Terminus

ISBT-Anand-Vihar
Popularly known as Anand Vihar ISBT, opened in 1996. You can board buses for UP bound buses locations like Agra, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Mathura, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Bihar bound buses for cities like Patna and Muzaffarpur. This ISBT is the closest link between Anand Vihar and the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand states and provides interstate bus services of almost 1500 buses every day from this bus terminal to the two states. It was built to cope with the rise in passenger traffic in order to decongest the overcrowded Kashmere Gate ISBT which was unable to accommodate an increase in inter-state traffic. It is also integrated with the Delhi Metro (Anand Vihar) line in the vicinity of Pragati Maidan and Nizamuddin Railway Station in order to accommodate the increasing volume of passenger transport.

Connectivity : One can easily reach here by Taxis or cab service. This place is well connected with Delhi Metro (Anand Vihar) and DTC Bus Service.

Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminus

ISBT-Sarai-Kale-Khan

You can board buses for Alwar, Jaipur, Rewari, Palwal, Gurgaon, Mahrndra Garh etc. from ISBT Sarai Kale Khan. This Terminal got completed in 2005 to cope with the rise in passenger traffic in order to decongest the overcrowded Kashmere Gate ISBT which was unable to accommodate an increase in inter-state traffic. This ISBT is integrated with the Delhi Metro line (Sarai Kale Khan Metro Station) in the vicinity of Pragati Maidan and Nizamuddin Railway Station in order to accommodate the increasing demand of passenger transport.

Connectivity : One can easily reach here by Taxis or cab service. This place is well connected with Delhi Metro (Sarai Kale khan Metro Station) and DTC Bus Service.

Few other locations in Delhi from where you can catch private operator buses are Dhaula Kuan for Jaipur Ajmer and Udaipur and Perragarhi to Madhuban Chowk for Bahadurgarh, Rohtak and Hissar bound buses.

    Hello delhi sarkar..mai ek aam insan me hu.9 may ko mai subha 5 bje delhi kashmiri gate par thi.mujhe UP ki gadi me aana tha.waha bhot log so rahe the.station par ek mai or ek anjan insan hum bijnor ki gadi ka wait kr rahe the..lagbhag 20 mint mao waha akeli hi rahi.achnak se waha UP ko gadi aai mere sath meri bhanji thi choti mai jese hi gadi ki tarf bhagi tbhi waha bhot log bhag kar aagye.or mao or choti beti gir gye.mere upar or bhi log gir gye.waha girne se mere bhot chot aai hai..agr waha koi achchi vivashtha hoti police ki vevastha hoto to shayd waha aesa na hota.delhi sarkar ko chahiye k bus stand par police rakhe.or jb koi gadi aaye to us gadi k andr jane k liye..line lgawai jaye..taki sab aram se gadi me ja sake….thankuuu
