Last Updated on April 12, 2024 By manager Leave a Comment

Delhi RRTS

By early 2025, passengers can see the Namo Bharat RRTS and Delhi Metro trains cross crossing at New Ashok Nagar Metro station.

The two trains will also cross each other at Ghaziabad. Both the trains will also traverse at Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan. If we talk about  Anand Vihar where the Metro station is elevated whereas RRTS Station at Anand Vihar is underground so commuters will not see both trains criss crossing each other.

It is believed that the entire 82-km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut-RRTS corridor is likely to become operational from June 2025.  however Delhi segment trial run may start by early 2025.

If we talk about the RRTS stations on Delhi stretch which is 14-km long then there are 4 stations:

1) Anand Vihar RRTS Station

2) Sarai Kale Khan RRTS Station

3) New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station

4) Jangpura RRTS Station

In Delhi section, the RRTS stations at Anand Vihar, Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar are being constructed close to metro stations to facilitate seamless interchange connectivity for commuters.

Passenger convenience at Anand Vihar

At RRTS Anand Vihar station which will be 297 metres long and 35 metres wide – for the convenience of commuters, these structures are being built:

1) Three lifts (one to access the platform and two to connect to Delhi metro),

2) Five escalators (three to access the platform and two to connect to the metro), and

3) Two entry / exit gates will be built. One entrance will be towards Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg and the other towards Anand Vihar Railway station.

An official of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) said that it was a challenging task to construct new infrastructure close to an existing one. It was possible only due to both the train companies wanting the passengers to enjoy hassle-free movement from one transport mode to other.

Passenger convenience at Sarai Kale Khan

With multi-modal integration at its core, the 215m long, 50m wide and `5m high Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station is located close to the Delhi metro station, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and Vir Haqiqat Rai ISBT. To connect the RRTS station with Nizamuddin Railway Station, NCRTC will build a 280m foot bridge equipped with six travelators.

Passenger convenience at Ashok Nagar

To make it easy for the commuters at Ashok Nagar location – the New Ashok Nagar RRTS station will have a 90m long, 6m wide foot bridge connecting it with the metro station which is around 100m away. It is also provisioned to build two additional pedestrian bridges at these stations for better connectivity with the adjoining areas.

Passenger convenience at New Ashok Nagar

At New Ashok Nagar, a 42m long and 6.5m wide bridge will make it possible for passengers to access Chilla village and Mayur Vihar Extension. On the other side of the same station, a 45m long and 8m wide bridge will be constructed near the Prachin Shiv Mandir for the convenience of the people residing in the New Ashok Nagar areas.
