Day-night matches at Kotla soon
Feb 17, 2008

The Delhi cricket fan's wait will be finally over very soon. In next two months, the Ferozeshah Kotla (the only cricket stadium in New Delhi) will have floodlights and cricket crazy fans in the Indian capital will be able to watch day-night one-day matches, something they have been dreaming of for years.

They will be able to see their best players playing under lights when Kotla will host Indian Premier League matches from April 10th this year. The Delhi & District Cricket Association is expected to make a formal announcement in next couple of weeks.

DDCA sources say the installation of the floodlights is expected to be completed in 45 days. In fact, IPL has informed the franchisees that the stadium will be available to them from April 4 - the end of the season DDCA officials have already started rolling up their sleeves. After all, hosting IPL matches means some serious money.
