Portal in the works for lowdown on 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi

As the Delhi government grapples with putting in place the infrastructure for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the state’s Information Technology (IT) department has swung into action to work on a plan to link the city digitally during the Games. To set up a public portal exclusively for the Commonwealth Games is one option that the department is looking at.

THE PLAN to refurbish the city stadia for the 2010 commonwealth games will take off by June 2008.The central public works department (CPWD) will receive Rs. 1000 crore from Sport Authority of India to be spent on overhauling the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Indoor (IGI) stadium, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, the swimming pool at Talkatora and the Karni Singh shooting range.
